Who is the genius behind the ‘latest’ hyped Chelsea boots? A boot silhouette that since its release not only has been copied by multiple brands, but also a silhouette that since then has been totally brought back to life.
The Bottega Veneta Lug Sole Chelsea Boots were release back in the fall of 2019 and since then has been a staple in every collection. A tall and slim shape in combination with a rugged lug sole came out to be the winning silhouette for Bottega Veneta. Prada has also released a shape like boot, but those weren’t Chelsea boots though.
To answer the question above. The boots were created by the creative director of Bottega Veneta since 2018, Daniel Lee. A Central Saint Martins graduate, who has worked under the likes of Maison Margiela and Céline. Since the appointment by the Kering Group, Lee has revived the brands name in a greatly positive manner, to say the least. He’s done a bang on job.
Personally, I am a big fan of the whole bulky shoe trend. The lug sole adds a lot to the bulkyness of the shoe, and gives it this rugged feel. Anyway, to pull these kind of boots off, you gotta have to have the perfect outfit going with it.
